1) Getting Started - top

Welcome to HealthPress Theme Documentation. In start you must have a working version of WordPress already installed. For information in regard to installing the WordPress CMS, please see the WordPress Codex Installing WordPress

1.1: Theme Installation - top

When you are ready to install this theme, you must first upload the theme files and then activate the theme itself. The theme files can be uploaded in two ways:

FTP Upload: Using your FTP client, upload the non-zipped theme folder into the /wp-content/themes/ folder on your server.

WordPress Upload: Navigate to Appearance > Add New Themes > Upload. Go to browse, and select the zipped theme folder. Hit “Install Now” and the theme will be uploaded and installed.

Once the theme is uploaded, you need to activate it. Go to Appearance > Themes and activate the uploaded theme.

Note: The Theme zip name is healthpress-theme.zip. which you will find in the downloaded package from themeforest

1.2: Setting up Home and Blog Page

Create Home Page using Home Template as displayed in image below.

To set up the homepage you must create a new page, you can do so by navigating to Pages > Add New. You can give this page a title yet you do not have to include any content. Select the “Home” template from the Page Attributes section and click “Publish”.

To set up the blog page you must create a new page, you can do so by navigating to Pages > Add New. You can give this page a title yet you do not have to include any content. Select the “Default Template” template from the Page Attributes section and click “Publish”.


Once you have created your home and blog pages navigate to Settings > Reading and configure the “Front Page Displays” setting. Select the static page option and choose the home page you just created as your front page and blog page you created as posts page. Please see the image below for reference.

 

Your home and blog pages are now created and can be further configured through the theme options.

1.3: Setting up Slides and Slider

Slider appear as part of home page template. You can add slides based on guide images provided below.

2) Theme Options - top

To configure various theme options you have to navigate to Appearance > Theme Options.

2.1 Header Settings - top

To configure header from theme options you have to navigate to Appearance > Theme Options. Here you can see first tab Header on the left column and its options on right side. As displayed in image below. The options are pretty much self explanatory.

2.2 Styling - top

To change theme color from theme options you have to navigate to Appearance > Theme Options. Here you can see 2nd tab Styling on the left column and its options on right side. As displayed in image below.

2.3 Social Navigation - top

To configure social navigation from theme options you have to navigate to Appearance > Theme Options. Here you can see 3rd tab Social Navigation on the left column and its options on right side. As displayed in image below. So, you can specify the links of social networks that you want to display in your header and leave others empty.

2.4 Blog Settings - top

To configure blog page settings from theme options you have to navigate to Appearance > Theme Options. Here you can see 4th tab Blog on the left column and its options on right side. As displayed in image below.

2.5 Slogan Settings - top

To configure slogan settings from theme options you have to navigate to Appearance > Theme Options. Here you can see 5th tab Slogan on the left column and its options on right side. As displayed in image below.

2.6 Doctors Settings - top

To configure Doctors section settings from theme options you have to navigate to Appearance > Theme Options. Here you can see 6th tab Doctors on the left column and its options on right side. As displayed in image below.

2.7 Testimonials Settings - top

To configure testimonials settings from theme options you have to navigate to Appearance > Theme Options. Here you can see 7h tab Testimonials on the left column and its options on right side. As displayed in image below.

2.8 Services Settings - top

To configure Services Page settings from theme options you have to navigate to Appearance > Theme Options. Here you can see 8th tab Services Page on the left column and its options on right side. As displayed in image below.

2.9 Services List Settings - top

To configure services list settings from theme options you have to navigate to Appearance > Theme Options. Here you can see 9th tab Services on the left column and its options on right side. As displayed in image below.

You can configure each of five services listed on homepage and services page as displayed in image below.

You need to provide service image, heading, text info and target link.

To configure Gallery Item Single Page settings from theme options you have to navigate to Appearance > Theme Options. Here you can see 10th tab Gallery Page on the left column and its options on right side. As displayed in image below.

2.11 Contact Settings - top

To configure contact page settings from theme options you have to navigate to Appearance > Theme Options. Here you can see 11th tab Contact on the left column and its options on right side. As displayed in image below. So, you can specify contact form heading, target email address, postal address, contact form text below heading, google map latitude & longitude and zoom level.

The Last tab in Theme Options is Footer. The options in Footer tab are displayed below

You can enable and disable twitter tweets above footer and also specify the username for tweets.

The footer logo, about text and read more link can only be displayed in footer if Footer Information Widget is used in Footer First Column for Widgets.

You can specify Copyright Text and any other text to display on right side of footer from these theme options.

2.13 Background Settings - top

To change the background of your theme. you need to navigate to Appearance > Background and upload your image with related settings. As, displayed in image below.

You can add services and later on use various services templates to display services in 1 column, 3 columns and 4 columns.

You can add doctors as displayed in image below and later on use various doctors templates to display doctors in 2 columns and 4 columns.

7) Setting up Contact Page - top

HealthPress Theme has a Contact Us Template and options in Theme Options panel to help you setup a contact page.

So, you need to just create a new page and assign it Contact Us Template. As displayed in image below.

After creating the page you can setup your contact page theme options as demonstrated in theme options image at the start of this documentation.

You can find your locations Latitude and Longitude from here.

10) Theme Features - top

This section will document theme features and how to use them successfully.

10.1 Custom Menus - top

The theme has Only one custom menu locations that is in the header. To setup your custom menus, navigate to Appearance > Menus. Give your menu a name and build it up using the available widgets. You can add a variety of items including pages, categories, custom links. To extend the available widgets, click the screen options tab at the very top of the screen and configure your options. Once you have built your menu, save it and assign it to Main Menu Location. As, displayed in the image below.

10.2 Theme Options - top

The theme comes with easy to use theme options panel. You can access it by navigating to Appearance > Theme Options. The theme options are conveniently spread over a number of vertical tabs and each tab contains the options that relates to a particular area of the theme.

10.3 Custom Widgets - top

The theme comes with various custom widgets. the widgets can be found under Appearance > Widgets. Detail about every widget is given below.

10.3.1 Appointment Widget - top

Appointment widget displays on front end as given below and admin side as given above. It generates and email to target address with form details submitted by user.

10.3.2 Newsletter Subscription Widget- top

This is a raw widget. you can configure it with any service you want as normally newsletter subscription services asks for email address and give you a form submission URL and required name for email input field.

Theme is also compatible with MailChimp plugin . just make sure to disable its own styles from its settings page.

Footer Information Widget displays the footer logo, about text and read more button based on the footer options mentioned in Theme Options >> Footer settings.

Footer Location Widget displays the Location information as displayed in image below.

10.3.5 Recent Posts With Thumbnail Widget - top

This widget displays blog posts with thumbnails in sidebar. as displayed in image below.

10.3.6 Quick Contact Widget - top

This widget displays quick contact information in sidebar as displayed below.

11) Short codes - top

The theme comes pre-packed with a number of short codes allowing you to add styled content to your site with little effort.

Columns

Columns short code is easy way to make columns in your page or post. All short codes related to columns and usage of these codes is mentioned below
